What is the common accident of belt conveyors

Mar 15, 2024

1. Belt deviation

The root cause of belt deviation is caused by uneven force.

Common reasons include:

(1)The drum sticks to coal or is tilted and deformed;

(2)The conveyor head center, fuselage center and tail center deviate;

(3)The adjustment of the roller is abnormal, and the running angle between the head roller and the tail roller and the belt is wrong;

(4)Improper loading and incorrect belt joints;

(5)The belt is of poor quality and has different tension levels;

(6) There is bonded material or uneven surface on the roller.

2. Roller operation problems

The reasons why the roller does not rotate or is damaged are:

(1)Coal dust or sewage enters the bearing, and the bearing is filled with dirt and cannot rotate;

(2)The grease in the bearing in the roller is lost or lacks oil, causing the bearing to be severely rusted and unable to rotate;

(3) The structure and quality problems of the roller affect the service life.

3. Belt slipping

The main causes of belt slippage are:

(1)It is caused by the idler not rotating, serious deviation of the belt, overloading or belt damage, which increases the running resistance of the belt;

(2)After the belt is used for a period of time, it will plastically change and elongate, and it will slip due to reduced tension;

(3) When there is muddy water or coal dust in the driving drum, the friction coefficient decreases and causes slippage.
