How to Troubleshoot Link Conveyors

Jan 08, 2025

Troubleshooting Link Conveyors (chain conveyor) can start from the following aspects:

Mechanical aspects

Chain jam or tooth skipping: Check the chain for wear, deformation or insufficient lubrication. If the wear is serious, the chain needs to be replaced; deformed links should be corrected or replaced in time. At the same time, apply special lubricant regularly to ensure smooth operation of the chain.

Sprocket failure: Check whether the sprocket has uneven wear, tooth surface damage, etc. Uneven wear may be caused by uneven chain tension, and the tension needs to be adjusted; if the tooth surface is damaged, the sprocket needs to be replaced.

Electrical

Motor does not rotate: Check whether the motor power is connected, whether the fuse is blown, and whether the motor winding is short-circuited or open-circuited. If there is a power problem, repair the circuit; if the fuse is blown, find out the cause and replace it; if the motor is faulty, it needs to be repaired or replaced by a professional.

Controller failure: Check whether the buttons, relays and other components of the controller are working properly, and whether there are problems such as poor contact and short circuit. You can use a multimeter to detect and replace damaged components to ensure the normal operation of the controller.

Transportation

Material conveying is not smooth: Check whether the conveying channel is blocked, and clean up the debris and accumulated materials in the channel. At the same time, check whether the material exceeds the carrying capacity of the conveyor. If so, adjust the conveying volume.

Deviation problem: adjust the tension of the chain to ensure that the tension on both sides is even. Check whether the rollers are installed in parallel. If there is a deviation, adjust it to keep the chain and the material on the correct conveying path.
